At a meeting in the home of Elisha Watson Jr., on the evening of February 28th, 1839, a small group resolved to build an Episcopal Church in the village of Wakefield. A wood framed church, standing about 1/2 mile from our current location was consecrated on the Feast of the Ascension, June 3, 1840. The present building, at the corner of Kenyon Ave and Main St was was consecrated in June 1883. With the exception of the bell tower, enclosed entrance, and an access ramp, the exterior has remained unchanged.
